Donated amount HAS d’HuZes campaign rises steadily

The 24th of November saw the official kickoff of the cycling campaign HAS d'Huzes at HAS Den Bosch, University of Applied Sciences. In the central hall a good number of spectators witnessed the unveiling of a huge pillar that will show the amount of money already raised. In addition to this, the two cycling teams were presented. Shortly after the Christmas break, the pillar already showed an amount of 10,000 euros. Meanwhile, the university buzzes with all sorts of initiatives to raise more money. Just before Christmas, HAS Knowledge Transfer organized a huge campaign: all employees made themselves available to bake, decorate and sell over 800 cupcakes.

HAS d’HuZes's target: Raising 30,000 euros for KWF/Alpe d'HuZes Fund. The fund aims to raise as much money as possible for the research of control and prevention of cancer. This research will contribute to changing the outlook of the disease from fatal to chronic. How do they raise all that money? At least six times a day cyclists climb the legendary Alpe d'Huez in France and by doing so, they raise money. In 2011, a record amount of over 20 million euros has been raised. On the 6th and 7th of June, the campaign will be held for the seventh time and cyclists strive to pedal for a whopping 30 million!
